When our router is not enough to provide signal strength to areas where we need WiFi, extenders play important role to complete that gap of router.
Extender is a signal booster device which works on the principal of rebroadcasting the WiFi Signals. Extenders are simple to setup and manage. My D-Link wifi extender setup wizard helped to apply many controls over my network and access. But sometime Extender does not connect to internet, which is frustrating and need to be solved out.
Today let’s discuss some possibilities where extender does not connect to internet and their solutions
Why Extender is not connecting to internet?
If your extender is not connection to internet then there can be any problem among many. I will try to point some of such issues and solutions.
Router and extender
Extender does not work independently, it is connected to router. So if Router is not working properly, then any other device connected to this will not work as expected.
We need to check if router has incoming internet or not. If it is having internet connectivity then we need to insure if the router is broadcasting WiFi signal. In some cases router itself has some signal broadcasting issue due to slow connectivity and as a result extender does not work.
Correct Signal Strength
Router must be placed under good signal strength of router. If extender is receiving low signal strength from router, resulting in connectivity break in between router and extender. This will create problem in signal broadcasting from extender.
Correct placement of extender
The correct placement of extender is a key point for internet connection or loss of internet connection. There should be appropriate distance in between router and extender and also extender placement should be in such a way that its signal is accessible to devices.
